Putting this blogpost together has made me very motivated for the beautiful season of Autumn which stays before us.
While most brides rush to book a venue during the summer months, there are a lot of couples that appreciate the great things about having their big day during autumn….. infact there’s something magical in crunchy leaves, cold clear mornings and rich and opulent colors that remind us of how beautiful the autumnal season is.
Autumn is actually a season of beautiful decor; this is one of the reason why we can completely understand why lots of couples chose to get married in this time of year. Traditionally, it’s been the season for enjoying the abundance of the harvest too, so it feels like a natural partner to the wedding celebration. It’s a time for feasting, lighting fires and celebrating the beauty of the world.
So, if you’re debating on planning an autumnal wedding, then here’s some inspiration to get you started: While having your wedding in the autumn won’t affect what you choose with regards rings, hair and makeup or even your dress, it is interesting to see how this season changes the decorations’ style together with the venue’s mood.
Autumn is a beautiful time outside, so be sure to pick up some of the dead leaves and use these within your décor. We love the idea of glittery autumn leaves ( find here some examples).
They can be hung around the venue or used to decorate the tables. Using pinecones, is a brilliant idea for name cards and doesn’t cost you much. Acorns and pumpkins are also great natural pieces to pick up that cost little or nothing and tie in the season easily. We also love the minimal look that using foliage and plants can achieve. Plants also offer an aromatic scent, creating a gorgeous ambience for your guests.
Use natural and seasonal colors
Autumn is a season with color in abundance, so embrace those autumnal colors of red, gold, orange and yellow and use these as a theme within the wedding. There’s not many other occasions where orange can be incorporated into your day, looking beautiful. Pared with browns, berry tones, ivories and greys, it’s the perfect way to honor the season in which you’re getting married. Those colors make the final result look more organic, natural and there’s less risk of things looking over styled. You can incorporate these in your wedding flowers, the table decorations and even the accessories for the male members of the wedding party.
